| Sugah! Confectionery and Ice Cream Emporium and Rum Runners Rum Cake Factory are sister stores located on Halifax's beautiful waterfront boardwalk. We are currently accepting resumes seeking staff for our 2017 season, with our stores reopening for the season in mid-April. We are currently hiring for all positions, including assistant manager, as well as full time and part time front end staff. Store hours are 10-6pm, 7 days a week (store hours are 10-10pm during the peak summer months), and we are currently hiring for all shifts. At Sugah! and Rum Runners, we believe in making things by hand. All our in-house confections and cakes are made on site by our talented kitchen staff. Front end staff are responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers, in addition to serving ice cream, packaging in-house products, and maintaining smooth day to day operations of the store. Successful applicants will possess the following: - passion for customer service - attention to detail - desire to engage with tourists and share our love of Halifax - good time management skills Although not mandatory, preference will be given to applicants who possess a valid Food Handler's permit. Previous experience in a food service environment and/or previous experience working with tourists are considered assets. The role of assistant manager includes all of the above responsibilities, with the addition of providing assistance to the store manager relating to matters such as staffing, scheduling, as well as oversight of the store during evenings/weekends. All of the above qualifications are preferred, and previous management experience is ideal. Note: due to alcohol on site and sold in our gift baskets, all staff must be 19+.
